CARTAS AO PRESIDENTE. Diretor do filme: o tcheco Petr Lom

Nesta 5ª feira (12/01 – 23h30) a TV Cultura exibiu o documentário (de 2008, com 50 minutos) com o título: CARTAS AO PRESIDENTE. Um filme muito, muito interessante.  O documentarista e diretor do filme, o tcheco Petr Lom, obteve permissão para acompanhar o presidente do Irã, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (quem consegue escrever  o nome desse cara?), em suas viagens pela zona rural do Irã, onde ele prega seu populismo doméstico e a política exterior anti-EUA. Nem todo o Irã afundou nessa loucura. Pessoas que vivem nas cidades não aprovam o comportamento de Ahmadinejad.Tiveram uma guerra com o Iraque (que, se bem me lembro, foi culpa do Iraque) de dez anos. Gastaram fortunas em armas, para não falar das compras astronômicas que o Xá Reza Pahlevi já tinha gasto. Hoje, enquanto o mundo todo está repensando o uso da energia nuclear, a gente vê no filme pessoas em miséria gritar ao Ahmadinejad: "Faça a bomba!".
 O filme ultrapassa o retrato do Irã e mostra a triste condição da ignorância das massas. É um retrato incrível. Mostra o dualismo das pessoas no campo, divididas entre a crença fanática a um lider populista e a dura realidade que enfrentam dia a dia. É uma cena emblemática: eles vivem uma guerra dentro deles mesmos.

This Friday (12.01 - 23.30) a Brazilian Channel TV shows the documentary (2008, with 50 minutes) with the title LETTERS TO THE PRESIDENT. A film very, very interesting. The film's director and documentary filmmaker, Czech Petr Lom, obtained permission to accompany the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in his travels in rural Iran, where he preaches his domestic populism and anti-US foreign policy. Not everyone will sink into this craziness. People who live in cities do not approve the behavior of Ahmadinejad. They had a war with Iraq ten years. They spent a fortune on weapons, not to mention the astronomical purchases that Reza Pahleve had already spent in the seventies. Today, while the world is rethinking the use of nuclear energy in the film we see people, living in misery, crying to Ahmadinejad: "Make the nuclear bomb."
The film goes beyond the portrayal of Iran and shows the sad state of ignorance of the masses. It is an amazing picture. Shows the dualism of people in the field, divided between the fanatical belief to a populist person and the harsh reality they face every day. It is a symbolic thing: they live in a war within themselves.
